I just completed my 200-hour yoga teacher training in Tel Aviv and I must recommend it to anyone who is passionate about yoga. While I learned the basics and logistics i.e. assisting, teaching, etc. I learned the deeper meaning of yoga from it's history, philosophy, and asanas which truly allowed me to know myself. My awareness of my body and mind became infinitely stronger and my understanding of contentment and happiness changed.
In one month and 200 hours of yoga training I became a different person with a different perspective on life. Before starting the course I had many hesitancies based on my physical body. My hips are really tight, I can't do certain poses etc. etc. My teacher encouraged me to take the course as there will always be something to work on. If we were perfect it would be boring. Yoga is a lifetime journey, that's what makes it so amazing. Not only did I learn so much about my body, with the support and encouragement from my teacher I began to accept my body. In addition, with teaching others beginning their yoga journey I began to realize how far I came and the potential I have and where I can bring others, a very powerful feeling.
The change I saw within myself made me want to help others see what yoga can bring to their lives. I always loved yoga and felt happiness and fulfillment from my practice but after taking the teacher training course I understand why. If you have the time and money, it is something I would recommend, even if you don't want to be a teacher it is a great investment. While learning proper alignment, anatomy and asanas will help you in your physical practice for the rest of your life. The philosophy and mental process and change you will experience will help you in everything that you do in the future.
